Andy Whitehouse founded Copperfield Advisory as a boutique consulting firm that serves founder-led, owner-run businesses. His work focuses on commercial opportunities and threats relating to brand and reputation.
With more than 20 years’ experience helping lead major companies and developing government policy, Andy gives leaders the advice they need to build their businesses, navigate complex public issues and manage crises. He has worked with clients in sectors including financial services, private equity, tech, healthcare and philanthropy.
Before Copperfield, Andy served as the most senior communications professional in three leading companies, most recently as chief communications officer of IBM (NYSE: IBM), where he led a team of 600 professionals.
Before IBM, Andy led marketing, communications and knowledge management globally for Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW) and Willis Group (NYSE: WSH), the global risk advisor and (re)insurance broker. In this role, he played a central part in the $18 billion merger of Willis and Towers Watson and in the acquisition of Gras Savoye by Willis.
Prior to Willis, Andy was responsible for building and protecting the reputation and brand of McKinsey & Company. He led the firm’s communications function and co-led its publishing team. Andy worked with a host of public sector and nonprofit clients in his nine years at McKinsey and also led research there on the role of business leaders in public life.
Before McKinsey, Andy was a government policymaker in the United Kingdom. A member of the Civil Service Fast Stream, he led teams in the Prime Minister’s Social Exclusion Unit, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Department of Health. His work focused principally on tackling poverty and social exclusion in England.
Andy is a professor at Columbia University, where he teaches political communications and crisis management to graduate students. A founding member of the NationSwell Council, he is the treasurer of the Harlem-based Reading Team and a fellow of the RSA. He was an assistant producer on a Grammy-winning Latin jazz album.
Andy is a graduate of Oxford and Harvard universities and a recipient of the Distinguished Friend of Oxford University award.
Christine Roletter is responsible for overseeing all areas of finance, operations and administration at Copperfield. She has a strong ability to streamline processes, maximize efficiency and foster professional relationships within organizations.
She leverages her knowledge and experience to develop and implement efficient processes and workflows to meet the ever-evolving needs of our firm. Christine’s focus is on coordinating all of the moving parts between our clients and our team to ensure a seamless experience for our clients. Christine’s philosophy centers around the role she can play in helping others find solutions. For her work with client service teams, she focuses on research for brand and positioning projects, events and media outreach.
Christine holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in sociology and criminology, and a master’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she specialized in forensic investigative techniques and police administration.
Cosette Gastelu supports client teams on projects that strengthen clients’ branding and positioning among the audiences that matter most to them.
For Cosette, there is nothing so insignificant that it is not worth knowing. She brings this principle into her work by drawing inspiration, ideas and insights from diverse sources to contribute to brand strategies, content development, media engagement and research initiatives that further clients’ commercial and strategic goals.
At Copperfield, Cosette has served clients in philanthropy, consumer products, technology, financial services, education, media and nonprofits.
She previously worked with Dwayne Clark Interior Design Management Group, where she contributed to public relations and marketing strategies for leading interior designers from around the U.S. She was responsible for developing and executing social media plans for clients, writing press releases and performing media research.
Cosette holds a bachelor’s of arts degree, summa cum laude, in history and classical studies from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Dan Neely is an Advisor to the Copperfield team. He is a serial entrepreneur, investor and amateur chef.
Dan is the founder and former CEO of Networked Insights, a machine learning software company that was backed by Goldman Sachs and acquired by American Family Insurance in 2017.
Before starting Networked Insights, He was Director of Strategy at Scient, one of the fastest growing services companies in history; and he was part of the team that launched eSurance, the leading online insurance company. Additionally, Dan is on a number of technology company boards and is a member of the board of the non-profit After School Matters. Dan and his family are based in Chicago.
Ebba Mattsson serves clients across a range of industries, including technology, consumer goods, financial services and law. She brings a design thinking approach to her client work and leads the development of investor decks and design brand reviews.
In May of this year, Ebba completed a master’s degree in StrategicDesign and Management at Parsons School of Design. Ebba is committed to exploring andcreating environments where the art of design can inform the practice of management.
Ebba’s work experience spans several industries. Most recently, she was an investment analyst at Altor Equity Partners, a Nordic-based private equity firm. She worked on projects across different phases, from identification to analysis of potential investments. She previously worked at Shamballa Jewels, a Danish luxury jewelry brand, where she served as the project leader for the opening of the company’s new flagship store in New York City. She also worked closely with the company’s senior leadership team and the board of directors and was involved in setting the commercial business strategy.
Ebba holds a bachelor’s of science in international business from Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally from Sweden, she has lived in Brussels, Paris, Copenhagen and New York City.
Harry Brannan serves Copperfield clients in the professional services, financial services and nonprofit sectors. He mostly works on content development and market research to help brands sharpen their brand messaging.
Harry joined Copperfield from the University of Cambridge, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English. At Cambridge, Harry was a member of his college’s Events Committee, responsible for organizing music events. He captained his college’s soccer team in his final year.
He worked previously as an intern at Time Out London, where he was a researcher in the Music and Comedy departments. He was editor of his high school annual magazine and was selected to be Head Boy in his senior year by staff and students.
Mary McDonough serves clients across a range of industries, including professional services, capital markets, private equity, nonprofit and law.
While at Copperfield, Mary has helped executives and businesses build brand reputation, create positioning and messaging narratives, and develop and implement integrated communications, content and media relations strategies. She has quickly learned the crucial role that thoughtful communications and executive positioning tactics play in increasing an organization’s visibility and reaching target audiences.
Previously, Mary interned at Live Nation Entertainment’s Media and Sponsorship division. She helped the Marketing Solutions team achieve its goal of connecting brands to music fans by doing comprehensive research into Live Nation clients and their competitors and conducting industry analysis.
Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston College (BC), where she served as an executive board member on the Relay for Life committee, which supports an annual fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. As the special events chair, Mary organized numerous large-scale events to increase club awareness on campus and raise funds. She was the No. 1 fundraiser at BC in 2016-2017.
Myra Oppel is a seasoned communications strategist who works with organizations and individuals to build and protect their brands and reputations. With more than three decades of experience as a journalist, in-house corporate strategist and communications and political consultant, she brings expertise in media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, and turnaround and integrated communications to help clients leverage opportunities and navigate challenges.
Prior to Copperfield, she served as a senior vice president for Washington, D.C.-based strategic advisory firm Smith & Company and headed media and analyst relations for Accenture’s Federal Services subsidiary. She worked as a political media consultant and managed media relations and communications for two major electric utilities. She began her career as a reporter and editor for newspapers in Mississippi and as a newswoman for the Associated Press.
Her experience includes providing counsel for major storms; electricity supply issues; labor disputes; corporate criminal investigations; litigation communications; regulatory investigations; media investigations; and fatal accidents. Oppel also served as a communications strategist and spokesperson for a prolonged $6.8 billion utility merger.
An accredited public relations professional by Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), her work has been recognized with a number of awards, including a PRSA Silver Anvil award for integrated communications, a PR News Platinum Award for media relations and gold Pollie awards by the American Association of Political Consultants. She was named Media Relations Professional of the Year in 2013 by PR News.
Oppel earned a master’s degree in strategic communication from Columbia University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Mississippi. She serves as an associate professor at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies.
Paul Stamoulis is a board member at Copperfield Advisory, serving as the firm’s non-executive corporate secretary.
Paul is Senior Managing Director and Head of Clarim Holdings, responsible for the origination and execution of its investments, and the development of the Clarim family of companies.
Before Clarim, Paul served as a Managing Director and the Global Head of Fixed Income Origination for Scotiabank, as well as a board member of Scotia Capital (USA) and executive committee member for Global Banking & Markets across the US, Latin America/Central America, and the Caribbean.
Pranusha Chelikani works with Copperfield clients across the banking and financial services, consumer, media, and nonprofit sectors. Her client engagements are focused on brand positioning, digital marketing, recruitment and talent management, and strategic communications. Pranusha advocates for a data-driven approach to strategy and decision-making by combining analytical skills with creative thinking.
Prior to her work with Copperfield, Pranusha spent over four years in client-facing roles, most recently with Edelman in Mumbai. She worked with global brands in the consumer goods, lifestyle, healthcare, and technology sectors, crafting and leading integrated marketing communications campaigns.
Pranusha holds a master’s degree in strategic communication from Columbia University, a post-baccalaureate in public relations & corporate communications from the Xavier Institute of Communications in Mumbai, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. At Columbia, Pranusha also was a graduate teaching associate for a class on leadership and organizational behavior. She is fluent in Hindi, Telugu and English.
Russ Ollis serves Copperfield clients across multiple industries, including venture capital, financial services, professional services and enterprise technology.
At Copperfield, Russ has helped senior leadership navigate digital transformations, develop go-to-market strategies and build brand reputation through designing and implementing integrated communications, content and media relations. He has deftly used his management consulting experience to bolster Copperfield’s unique approach to communications strategy and brand positioning engagements.
Previously, Russ was a senior consultant at the Beacon Group, a growth strategy consulting firm. In this role, Russ worked with Fortune 500 companies across the aerospace and defense, healthcare, industrials, and technology industries. He advised business decisionmakers on their growth strategy needs, such as adjacent and whitespace market entry assessments, market entry strategies, strategic planning and commercialization of innovations. Russ also helped with the firm’s aerospace and defense business development efforts and assisted in driving the practice’s thought leadership content.
Russ holds a bachelor’s degree in government and history from Colby College. While at Colby, Russ was a member of the varsity lacrosse team and a writer for The Colby Echo.
Todd Langstaff drives the development and execution of bespoke brand and communications strategies for a range of Copperfield clients. His work has included projects for companies in insurance, wealth management, beauty services, and professional services and nonprofits addressing teen programming and LGBTQ+ challenges.
Previously, he worked for FCB Chicago, an integrated marketing agency, where he served FORTUNE 500 clients as a part of the account management, strategic planning, and new business teams. For nearly four years, he worked across the digital and B2B practices with clients in the chemicals, IT, aerospace, renewable energy, extractives and food service industries.
Additional prior experience includes positions with a theater PR firm, an NBC affiliate, a French vineyard, and an international charity based in Zambia.
Todd currently serves as secretary for the board of the Pestalozzi U.S. Children’s Charity and is a former Aspen Ideas Festival scholar.
He graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, concentrated on public policy, and a minor in French. While there, he authored capstone work on adaptive management of transboundary water policies and the impact of conservation policy on Malagasy cash-crop farmers.
Yolande Daeninck is a seasoned communication professional who is passionate about reputation building, corporate and executive positioning, and crisis communications. For more than 20 years, she has worked with leading organizations both in an agency setting and in-house in Europe and the U.S.
At Copperfield, Yolande is serving clients in professional services, financial services, technology and the non-profit sector. She also helps lead the firm, with a focus on recruiting, talent management and development.
Prior to Copperfield, Yolande worked at McKinsey & Company for a decade, starting out in the Brussels office where she managed communications for the firm’s operations in Belgium and Luxembourg. She then transferred to New York to handle media relations, first across North America and later globally.
Yolande started her career at a leading communications agency in Brussels, serving local and international clients on a wide range of communications issues.
Yolande is also a photographer and recently spent a year at the International Center for Photography concentrating on documentary photography.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in romance languages from the University of Louvain, a degree in business economics from the University of Leuven and a master’s in corporate communications from Boston University. She has lived in Brussels, Amsterdam and New York, and is currently based in the Boston area with her husband and young daughter.
